HATHA YOGA

Uniting Sun and Moon

Hatha Yoga is a practice with a rich history, dating back to ancient Vedic times and shaped by sage Patanjali in the 4th century CE. Over the years, many Yogis have shared this transformative practice worldwide, making it a cornerstone of modern yoga.

Hatha yoga is the foundation of many styles like Ashtanga, Yin, and Flow. Its versatility makes it suitable for both beginners and advanced students. In my classes, I guide you through movements that include asanas (sun salutations, various postures,), mudras (hand gestures), bandhas (energy locks), pranayama (breathing exercises), mantras (chants), and a calming closing with body scanning or meditation.

The combination of "Ha" (sun, right side) and "Tha" (moon, left - side) in the term "Hatha" symbolizes balance. Our practice aims to harmonize these energies within us, promoting physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Each mindful movement helps the body's vital energy, or prana, flow through our energy channels (nadis), reaching muscles, organs, and the brain. This flow breaks down blockages, fostering healing and balance. Over time, aligning the Pingala (right side - sun) and Ida (left side - moon) nadis leads to the central Sushumna nadi, allowing energy to rise to the crown chakra, enhancing consciousness and spiritual growth.

I invite you to step onto the mat and explore Hatha Yoga with me. Experience the union of body, mind, and soul. See you in class as we breathe, flow, and unite in the spirit of yoga.

Namaste,

Tücsi
